Something Old to Something New

The past couple of months I have been wanting to do some creative things around the house.  This is my first craft project to make our house more like a home.  I have a long list of things that I want to do, but will have to take each project one step at a time.  In this project I upcycled a window frame that was at my parent's house.  This is a before picture...

It took me about a month to decide what exactly I wanted to do with this old french door window frame.  I finally decided that I would make it into a new picture frame.  I spray painted it black to match my other furniture and then glued wire to the back of the frame to hang the pictures on.  I used clothes pins to clip the pictures to the wire... this is also really helpful to have because it is easy to change out pictures!  I added some flowers to bring a little more flare to the frame.  Here is a close up picture of some of the photos to get a better idea of what it looks like...

This is a great new addition to our living room.  I love that I will be able to change out the pictures easily throughout the year!  Here is a picture of the whole frame...

This is just one of the many things that I have planned to make in the next  couple of months.  Stay tuned to see the wreath that I will make for the Spring season it will be in my next post!
